KB "Tekhnari" presented a jet interceptor for "Shaheds"
The jet drone "Mongoose" is designed as a reusable interceptor of high-speed targets, such as the Shahed-136 drones.
This was reported to Defender Media by CEO Henadiy Suldin.
Mongoose is a reusable aircraft-type drone equipped with a jet engine and an automatic targeting system, which are intended to provide the necessary features for successfully intercepting high-speed aerial targets.
According to the developers, it will approach "shaheds," fire a shotgun charge at the engine or propeller of the enemy drone, and then either continue the mission or return for refueling and reloading.
According to the developers, the "Mongoose" can reach speeds of about 300-310 km/h, which should be sufficient to catch up with the current versions of the Shahed-136/"Geranium-2." The maximum flight altitude is 5,000 meters, and the combat radius is around 12 km.
Suldin believes this will be enough for future iterations of these drones, although it is already known that the jet version of the Russian drone reaches a cruising speed of about 500 km/h.
Tekhnari has developed its own targeting system for the interceptor, which focuses on the thermal radiation of the target. The interceptor can visually lock onto a target from 800 meters, and the auto-targeting system is activated at a distance of 150-200 meters.
According to Suldin, once the target is locked at this distance, the operator’s involvement is no longer needed – the further approach and attack occur automatically.
Specifically for shooting down "shaheds," the interceptor will use a multi-barreled shotgun, which will shoot at the engine or propeller of the enemy drone. Developers claim this will be sufficient to disable the Russian-Iranian drone.
After a successful attack, the "Mongoose" will be able to continue flying and hunt for other targets. After that, it will return to the base for refueling and reloading.
The company does not disclose the cost of the interceptor, but Suldin claims that if it intercepts 10-12 "shaheds," their drone will be more economically efficient than existing disposable interceptor drones.

Henadiy Suldin reported that "Tekhnari" has completed the creation of the first squadron of interceptor drones – the company is currently preparing to hand over prototypes to the anti-aircraft missile brigades.
