The man who opened fire in a McDonald’s restaurant in Cherkasy and was detained by special forces does not have gunshot wounds. Instead, the injured person has a serious cut wound on the neck.

As it turned out, the man has a cut wound on the neck with damage to blood vessels, and his critical condition is associated with hemorrhagic shock.

“He was stabilized and operated on. Currently, he is in the anesthesiology department on artificial ventilation, and his condition is stabilizing. At this moment, it cannot be said that the threat to his life has passed. He is stabilized, and a prognosis may be provided in a day,” said Oleksandr Fedoruk, the director of the Third City Emergency Hospital in Cherkasy.

In turn, the regional police reported that the motives for the incident in the public catering establishment are being established. Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code, namely hooliganism motivated by clear disrespect for society with the use of weapons, which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
