In Dnipro, call centers that deceived Czechs for 15 million crowns were exposed

In Dnipro, call centers that defrauded Czechs out of millions were busted.

Operators called to the Czech Republic, posing as bank employees or even «police officers» and intimidated people by claiming their money was at risk.

In a joint operation by the Czech and Ukrainian police, three such call centers were exposed. The result — over 150 detained individuals, dozens of seized computers and phones, and a criminal case with 40 episodes of fraud amounting to over 15 million Czech crowns.

The scale shocked even the Czechs. The scheme involved not only «managers» but also lawyers, accountants, and an entire IT support department. A full-fledged criminal corporation with its own HR department, only instead of KPIs — the number of extorted deposits.

So, if a «bank» calls you and asks you to rush to a crypto-ATM — it’s not about securing your money, it’s about losing it.
