A large-scale fire broke out at a warehouse in Korosten: it took over three hours to extinguish

In Korosten, Zhytomyr Region on August 17, a powerful fire broke out. A warehouse of a company caught fire.

This was reported by SES in Zhytomyr Region.

As noted, last night rescuers extinguished a fire in the metal building of a warehouse belonging to one of the companies in Korosten. The warehouse building was not in use.

The fire engulfed the wooden roof sheathing and walls of the warehouse, sandwich panels, as well as property inside. The fire covered an area of approximately 500 sq.m.

Rescuers reported that there was a risk of the fire spreading to another warehouse. Extinguishing the fire was complicated by heavy smoke and high temperatures. Rescuers worked on the roof of the warehouse, which was nearly 10 meters high.

The firefighting operation lasted three and a half hours. The fire damaged the roof and walls over an area of 500 sq.m, an electric forklift, and household appliances.

SES rescuers managed to save a nearby warehouse. At the scene, 22 rescuers and six units of equipment were deployed.
