Syrskyi: Russia is preparing active offensives in the Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhya directions

The enemy is currently regrouping and concentrating on two main directions: Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhya.

This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"The situation at the front is indeed difficult at the moment. It is characterized by the continuation of Russia’s strategic offensive operation," he said.

Syrskyi named two directions where the enemy is concentrating its forces.

"This is the Pokrovsk direction, which remains crucial for the Russians. And now the enemy is transferring its units from the Sumy direction to the Zaporizhzhya direction. That is, this will be the second direction where the enemy plans to begin active offensive actions," explained the Commander-in-Chief.

Despite the fact that actions of low intensity are currently underway in the Zaporizhzhya direction, the occupiers are trying to deliver a powerful strike that was planned a year ago.

"You remember that the Kursk operation just thwarted their plans," added Syrskyi.

The Commander-in-Chief reminded that the Russians were transferring troops from the Zaporizhzhya region to the Kursk region, including the 76th airborne assault division.

Regarding the enemy’s tasks in this direction, Syrskyi noted:

"The goal is to break through our defence and advance deep into the territory. Their target, of course, is the entire region."

The Commander-in-Chief also noted that Russia is not limiting itself to just two directions. And although the Zaporizhzhya and Pokrovsk directions are a priority in the near future, the enemy continues to attack in the Novopavlivka direction, with active actions taking place in the Lyman direction.

"There, too, the Russians are trying to achieve success, but the hostilities are of a smaller scale," Syrskyi concluded.
