Russia attacked Lviv with X-101 missiles equipped with cluster warheads
Today, August 21, Russia launched an attack on Lviv using X-101 cruise missiles with cluster warheads. As a result of the enemy attack, buildings were damaged, and there are casualties and injuries.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
As noted by the prosecutor’s office, during the massive strike by Russia on Lviv, air defense forces shot down three X-101 cruise missiles with cluster warheads. Hits by attack drones were also recorded.
As a result of the attack, an administrative building was damaged, where 5 people were in a shelter at the time of the strike. They were unharmed. The blast wave also damaged nearby buildings, shattering windows and doors.
In addition, debris from the downed missiles damaged private and utility premises.
"Preliminary information indicates one fatality. Two men sustained injuries and were examined by medics at the scene, while another injured person was taken to the hospital," the statement reads.
Currently, efforts to mitigate the consequences of the strike are ongoing, and prosecutors, together with other services, are documenting Russia’s war crimes. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the violation of the laws and customs of war.
