Ukraine is strengthening the border with Transnistria: a new road will be built and cameras will be installed

A lateral road will be constructed and bi-spectral cameras will be installed on the border with the self-proclaimed Transnistria. This will help the military better control the security situation and quickly respond to any challenges if necessary.

This was reported by the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

An inspection of the state of engineering arrangements of the state border was conducted on the border with the self-proclaimed Transnistria. The main goal is to determine the current needs for its further strengthening.

Additionally, a lateral road with improved pavement will soon be built on this section of the border, which will allow the military to move faster. It will then be equipped with modern bi-spectral cameras (capable of capturing images in two spectral ranges: visible and infrared).

"This particular section requires special control and systematic strengthening, as it has great significance for the national security of Ukraine. The creation and arrangement of a lateral road will allow border patrols to move more efficiently along the border, ensure rapid response to possible changes in the situation, and improve service conditions. At the same time, the use of bi-spectral observation cameras will allow for effective real-time monitoring of the situation at the border," the border guards’ statement said.
