Parubiy requested security, but was denied: the State Protection Department refutes the MP’s claims

Six months before the murder, former Rada Speaker Parubiy requested security but was denied. This was reported by Parubiy’s ally, MP Volodymyr Aryev.

“We will definitely look into this situation, as half a year ago Andriy requested protection, but it was not provided to him. Previously, there were reports about threats to several state politicians,” Aryev noted.

According to him, all letters and documents related to this issue will be examined.

The State Guard Department called these accusations “manipulative.”

They did not deny that Parubiy made a request for security, but stated that according to the law, security is provided to a former speaker only for one year after the end of their term (Parubiy held the position of Rada head until the summer of 2019).
