A classmate of Ternopil mayor Pylypchuk has become Nadal’s personal "wallet" and built a real estate empire
According to the information from the local publication Politerno, a classmate of the city mayor, Yuriy Pylypchuk, has effectively become the mayor’s personal «wallet.»
Pylypchuk and his relatives have dozens of companies, cooperatives, and land plots registered under their names. In particular, his wife Halyna officially heads «Merkuriy» — one of the most successful and controversial construction companies in Ternopil. This company, «by a strange coincidence,» was founded and has been setting construction records in Ternopil style – in parallel with Serhiy Nadal’s appointment as the head of the fine city.
One of the first «successes» of the Pylypchuk family — a high-rise building on the territory of the 9th school at Hromnytskoho, 4a. Later, the list included a high-rise at Yaremy, 14, lawsuits over which still haunt it in courts. And also — garages in the National Revival Park near the 23rd school. It seems that for «Merkuriy,» nothing is sacred — any plot of land becomes a platform for yet another record.
Over 40 companies belong to the family, most of which are service cooperatives. They have been massively receiving land — without competitions or auctions from the city administration. From «Nova Oselia» on Chernivetska to the residential complex «Day and Night» in Druzhba — the trace of the classmate can be seen everywhere.
Two apartments of the classmate, each nearly 200 «square meters,» are located in Ternopil’s most expensive residential complex «Portofino» on Biletska. Non-residential premises, land plots in the Carpathian region, solar stations, dozens of hectares for future cottages. His wife Halyna declares: stores, apartments, and even former public transport stops are registered under her name. This is a true championship in real estate, impossible without the mayor-classmate…
Interestingly, as soon as Politerno journalists published their investigation, one of the elite apartments in «Portofino» was immediately transferred to the mother of the deputy mayor Viktoriya Ostapchuk just a few days later. It looks as if the «ball» was passed to another «player» to hide the true owner. This is a record for the speed of reaction to anti-corruption publications.
