The Russian occupiers used an Iskander cruise missile for the strike on the Cabinet of Ministers building on the night of September 7, not a Shahed kamikaze drone.

This was reported by the EU ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, on Facebook.

Analysis of the debris indicates that an Iskander missile hit the government building. Meanwhile, the warhead of the missile did not explode.

A fire on the upper floors of the Cabinet of Ministers resulted from the ignition of missile fuel.

For her part, Ambassador Mathernová confirmed that the Russians used an Iskander missile for the strike.

"I saw it with my own eyes: Putin (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - ed.) knows exactly what he is doing. The Iskander ballistic missile that hit the Cabinet of Ministers was precisely targeted there - right at the heart of the Ukrainian government. We were shown significant remnants of the missile itself, and numerous fragments left from the cluster munition embedded in the Iskander," she noted.
