TV host Sukhanov called Kamenskykh "two-faced" for her disrespectful attitude towards the Ukrainian language

Journalist and TV host Oleksiy Sukhanov commented on the high-profile scandal surrounding Nastya Kamenskykh, who, during a concert in Miami, USA, stated that it "doesn’t matter to her which language to speak." Following this statement, the singer lost a contract with the well-known jewelry brand "Zolotiy Vik" and faced a wave of criticism.

Sukhanov, who lived in Russia until the age of 40, emphasized that Kamenskykh’s words are offensive and humiliating. In a conversation with TSN, he noted that if he were the head of the brand, he would also terminate the collaboration.

"I consider her behavior unacceptable. I’m not a fervent supporter of defining a person by their language, but her statements were dismissive, contemptuous, and offensive to a normal, healthy person," Sukhanov explained his position.

The TV host believes that Kamenskykh has distanced herself from Ukraine and stopped feeling the public sentiment. He advised her to return to Kyiv for at least a day and look into the eyes of the defenders who are giving their lives for the country. According to him, this could bring the artist back to adequacy and critical thinking.

Sukhanov did not hide his emotions when speaking about the singer’s true motives: "Why did she say that? Simply because she has no position of her own and wants to earn money. I understand her, why she wants to appeal to this Russian-speaking audience, to people from Russia. So that they attend her concerts and pay money. Well, then admit it. Then say it like it is: ’I don’t care what’s happening here, I want to make money.’ That would at least be more honest. But instead, she only demonstrates two-facedness. She’s two-faced."

The journalist also reminded that the language issue during the war is crucial: "If language didn’t matter, then the so-called Russia wouldn’t be so frantically pushing their ’yazyk’ here. This is what we finally need to understand. Why is Russia fighting for their ’yazyk’? Because it really does matter. And we all keep falling for these propaganda narratives that it’s not important. Please, you don’t have to speak this language, but you must respect, value, and acknowledge that it matters. This is, among other things, what distinguishes a Ukrainian from a citizen of Russia. By their language, consciousness, and identity."
