CCD: Russia is trying to sow distrust among Ukrainians towards Western partners
Russian propaganda spreads fakes about "fear of occupation" and "anti-fascist underground" to sow distrust among Ukrainians toward Western partners and disrupt international agreements.
This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation on the Telegram network.
Russian propaganda resources continue a campaign to discredit Ukraine’s relations with Western partners. According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, their goal is to sow doubts and distrust among citizens and the military.
In recent weeks, messages about the supposed fear of deploying Western countries’ deterrence forces have been actively spreading online. Propagandists present this as a "real occupation" of the territory, claiming that such sentiments are widely spread in certain regions of Ukraine.
As evidence, they mention fictional groups like the "anti-fascist underground of Kherson region," or sources are completely absent.
The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes: there is no confirmed data on such fears. Disinformation campaigns aim to undermine trust in Western support, disrupt international security agreements, and complicate diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
Experts note that the spread of such narratives may weaken public trust in allies, create tension within the country, and negatively affect the strategic decisions of the Ukrainian government.
