Recent events on the front line indicate that the Russians are losing time for regrouping their troops in the midst of their summer offensive campaign. This is a consequence of the rapid loss of human resources on which the enemy relied.

This was stated by Ivan Tymochko, the head of the Reserve Council of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He described the events taking place in Donetsk region. According to the expert, the enemy did not have a separate summer campaign; instead, it was a continuation of the 2024 offensive model.

"The Russians tried to achieve strategic objectives, but the enemy was forced to spend time transferring troops, regrouping, and familiarizing new territories for those units that were involved after rotations. This is because the human resource they had planned for was depleted faster than the Russians anticipated. They were forced to carry out regrouping in the summer, although they had planned to do it in the fall when the intensity of combat decreases," he explained.

In his opinion, the enemy will now try to restore offensive momentum to the level of the 2024 model. He linked this to the fact that over the past month and a half, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have systematically been reclaiming Ukrainian territories from enemy forces. He added that if the enemy is tactically trying to advance somewhere, it is only in localized areas, not an offensive along the entire front line as before.

He noted that strikes on oil refineries have created significant problems for the Russian Federation.

"This means that we can redistribute resources both to reinforce troops on the front line and to simultaneously strike at the enemy’s budget-forming industry and strategic objects. And this, one way or another, affects the battlefield, as well as the mobility and activity of Russian troops," Tymochko added.
