The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada assured that the initiative regarding responsibility for publications does not create censorship

The bill does not restrict journalists and freedom of speech but only expands the rights of citizens.

Stefanchuk commented on the initiative to increase responsibility for critical publications

He emphasized that the document does not impose liability without fault, does not prohibit anti-corruption investigations, and does not create mechanisms of censorship. Most of its provisions are already in force and comply with the Constitution and the practice of the ECHR.

«This bill is not about media, but about human rights», — added the head of the Ukrainian Parliament.
