Ukrainian drones paralyzed oil terminals in Novorossiysk and Tuapse

Ukraine continues to systematically impact the resource base of the aggressor state, Russia, including its Black Sea ports through which oil is exported. On September 24, 2025, strike marine drones of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine attacked key logistic facilities on Russia’s Black Sea coast.

The ports in question are Novorossiysk and Tuapse, as reported by sources in the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

According to sources in the Ukrainian intelligence service, the attack paralyzed the operations of the "Transneft" oil loading complex and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal near Novorossiysk, where Russians loaded oil onto tankers, including the so-called shadow fleet. Together, these loading points have the capacity to export up to 2 million barrels of crude per day.

Moreover, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s marine drones blew up the oil loading pier of one of the largest terminals in the port of Tuapse. Sources say the strike on Russia’s oil export facilities, which fund the war against Ukraine, once again demonstrated the low effectiveness of the security of the Black Sea ports by the Russian military.

The Russian troops opened chaotic and inaccurate fire, resulting in the destruction of residential buildings, destruction of several cars, and panic among the population of Novorossiysk, Tuapse, and Sochi. Local authorities urgently evacuated people from the beaches.
