The Defence Forces have refuted the "progress" of Russians in Yampil: the settlement is under Ukraine’s control

Russian propaganda claims alleged advances in the village of Yampil, Donetsk region. However, enemy information about successes near Lyman is fake.

This is reported by the Telegram of the 11th Army Corps.

In the corps’ statement, it is noted that the enemy has marked the improvement of their tactical position in the Yampil area as a priority goal. However, the Defense Forces have redeployed troops to thwart these plans.

To support the offensive actions of their forces, Russian propaganda resources spread false reports about alleged advances in Yampil.

"This is another attempt to sow panic and disinformation among the population," the military added.

What is really happening there:

• the village of Yampil remains under the control of the Defence Forces
• all enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups are neutralized in a timely manner
• the enemy has achieved no tactical successes

Almost two weeks ago, it became known that Russians managed to infiltrate Yampil. For this, they used tactics that directly violate the Geneva Conventions.

In particular, Russian soldiers disguised themselves in civilian clothing and, posing as local residents, attempted to establish a foothold in the village. Specifically, they hid in basements and houses. As a result, some of the saboteurs were eliminated, and others were taken prisoner.

Despite being a small settlement, it holds significant importance for the further development of the situation in the northern part of the Donetsk region. The potential loss of the village would open the way for the enemy toward Lyman and Slovyansk.
