The court declared the asset of the mayor of Sambir, valued at over 4 million hryvnias, to be unjustified

HACC confiscated an Audi Q7, which the mayor of Sambir registered under his daughter’s name, although he used it himself.

The Anti-Corruption Court granted the claim of the SAPO prosecutor regarding the recognition of an unjustified asset and confiscated an Audi Q7 2023, worth about 4.2 million UAH, in favor of the state. The car was used by the mayor of Sambir in Lviv region, Yuriy Hamar.

The car was formally registered under the name of the mayor’s daughter, Tetyana Moskvyak – this became known from the declaration of the official. However, anti-corruption authorities gathered evidence that after the purchase, the car was used exclusively by the father.

At the same time, neither Hamar nor his relatives had legal income to purchase this car.

When NABU and SAPO started to investigate the origin of the car, there were attempts to transfer its ownership to a third party.

The court agreed with the arguments of the SAPO prosecutor and fully granted the claim.
