The AFU destroyed a rare Russian electronic warfare station "Zhitel" in the Luhansk region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to methodically destroy the enemy’s expensive military equipment. This time they hit a rare Russian electronic warfare station "Zhitel".

This was reported by the UAV Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

They noted that this electronic jamming station R-330Zh "Zhitel" is an "extremely expensive target". Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the destruction of only 23 such enemy systems has been visually confirmed. "Recently, in the Luhansk region, fighters of the 412 Nemesis Regiment, in cooperation with aerial reconnaissance of one of the SBGS units, detected and destroyed exactly such a rare specimen. UAV Systems Forces: One step ahead!" summarized the military operation as successful.

"Zhitel" is a complex and multifunctional system. According to technical specifications, it can jam ground radio communications at a distance of up to 25 km, and communications on aircraft up to 50 km. The station intercepts sources of radio emissions and determines their location coordinates, sets up radio interference for satellite communications, GPS navigation, and GSM base stations.

Why this equipment is a serious threat

The R-330Zh "Zhitel" can:

– Jam the communications of Ukrainian military forces, complicating the coordination of actions.

– Disrupt the signals of reconnaissance drones and strike UAVs, making them less effective.

– Interfere with the targeting of precision-guided weapons that operate through satellite systems.
