Encirclement of Russian units near Dobropillya puts Putin in a difficult position – AFU

The encirclement of Russian army units in the area of Dobropillya, Donetsk region, is a devastating blow for the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

This was stated by the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko.

The Ukrainian defender noted:

"The Russian troops on the Donetsk direction, which they called a priority and most successful, are actually surrounded. For them, it will be morally and politically unacceptable if those troops that are now encircled surrender. Several dozen or hundreds of Russian soldiers captured on camera would be a terrible blow for Putin."

According to Tymochko, the Russian invaders are making every effort to unblock their troops in the Dobropillya area:

"They are making every effort to supply them with ammunition and food by air. They are trying to maintain contact with them, motivating them, and creating the belief that they will be unblocked."

The expert also added that the occupiers are trying not only to approach the encirclement from the occupied territories but also to break the ring:

"There are many factors here. The Russians have mingled with civilians who lived in these settlements, using them as cover. Therefore, there is a lot to do here. A systematic military operation is being conducted here, a battle of strategies, so that each side can gain the initiative."
