At the "Obolon" metro station, a group of teenagers beat up a man: police have opened a criminal case

In Kyiv, at the Obolon metro station on the evening of Sunday, October 12, 2025, a fight broke out between a 24-year-old man and a group of five teenagers aged 13 to 17, as well as two of their older companions. The attack allegedly occurred due to an insult directed at a female friend by the older man, and they beat him fiercely, in a group, knocking him down onto the platform. As a result, the police initiated criminal proceedings under the article on gross violation of public order motivated by disrespect for society.

This was reported by Informator.

The fight in the Kyiv subway was described by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv. A video from the scene appeared on social media—bystanders recorded a group of young people attacking a man right on the platform of the Obolon metro station. The boys knocked him to the ground and then began kicking him.

The altercation itself did not last long: visually, three or four boys from the larger group took part in it. One of the attackers appears very young, and the presence of a female police officer from the capital’s subway nearby does not deter the attackers—they continue to beat the man, who is already lying on the station platform.

"Law enforcement officers stopped the fight and took all participants to the police room. It was established that the attackers are five teenagers, aged 13 to 17, and two of their companions, aged 19 and 21. The latter explained their actions by claiming that the man had allegedly insulted their female friend, who was with them. Law enforcement officers interviewed the minors and handed them over to their parents," the Kyiv police reported.

It should be noted that the video of the fight was recorded by the members of the group themselves. Some of the boys stood aside on the station platform, egging others on with loud shouts and cries. It seems that this is precisely the kind of case where the group "documented" themselves due to a desire for fame on social media.

Investigators from the police department in the capital’s metro entered information about the incident under Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—gross violation of public order motivated by clear disrespect for society, committed by a group of persons. All circumstances of the incident are currently being established within the framework of criminal proceedings, law enforcement officials say.
