General Staff: Russia involved North Korean troops in operations in the Sumy region

The command of the Russian armed forces has involved units of North Korean troops to support operations in the Sumy region. They conduct reconnaissance using UAVs and adjust MLRS strikes on the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

This was reported by the General Staff on Thursday, October 16.

It is noted that Ukrainian military recorded negotiations between operators from the DPRK and Russian fighters. Operators from North Korea coordinate MLRS shelling on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

"Due to critical personnel losses and the failure of the offensive operation in the Sumy region, the leadership of the Russian Federation continues to involve units from North Korea in active combat," the General Staff reported.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have documented all cases of foreign formations participating in the war against Ukraine.

"Units involved in the invasion will be neutralized in accordance with the laws and rules of warfare," added the General Staff.
