Zelenskyy: Russia launched over 3,000 drone strikes on Ukraine in a week
Russia launched over 3,270 drone strikes against Ukraine last week, dropped 1,370 guided aerial bombs, and fired nearly 50 missiles of various types.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on Telegram.
According to the head of state, despite all of Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts and numerous attempts to discuss a ceasefire, it is Russia that continues to deliberately delay the process of achieving peace and intensify terror against the civilian population.
"Ukraine has never sought war. We agreed to an unconditional ceasefire, proposed ways to the world to stop strikes on land, in the air, and at sea. But it is Russia that constantly hinders this process—manipulates, delays negotiations, and terrorizes our people," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President stressed that stopping Russian aggression "with words alone is impossible," as Moscow only responds to strength. He added that Ukraine, together with its partners, is continuously strengthening its air defense system—through the PURL program, investments in the domestic defense-industrial complex, and international cooperation formats.
"Putin cannot be stopped with words alone—pressure is needed. Ukraine will not grant terrorists any reward for their crimes," the President stated.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine counts on continued support from its allies to strengthen defense capabilities and, through joint pressure on the Kremlin, ultimately force Russia to end the war.
