Trump gave Zelenskyy an ultimatum: either accept Putin’s conditions — or Ukraine will be "destroyed"

In an intense meeting at the White House, US President Donald Trump expressed a sharp stance to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: he urged Ukraine to accept Russia’s terms, warning that if refused, the Kremlin would «destroy» the country.

This was reported by the British newspaper Financial Times, citing sources.

According to FT, during the meeting that took place on Friday, Trump not only dismissed military maps provided by the Ukrainian side but also insisted that Kyiv cede all of Donbas to Russia. In particular, he repeatedly echoed key talking points of Russian President Vladimir Putin and claimed that Ukraine is, allegedly, «losing the war».

Although by the end of the meeting Ukraine achieved some progress — Trump essentially agreed to freeze the current front lines — the tone of the meeting itself raised concerns in Kyiv and among European partners: it demonstrated the volatile and inconsistent stance of the US President regarding support for Ukraine.
