Peskov: Putin was informed about the "encirclement" of Ukrainian troops in Kupyansk and Pokrovsk

In Russia, Putin was informed about the "encirclement" of Ukrainian troops in Kupyansk and Pokrovsk.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Peskov.

According to him, Putin visited one of the command posts of Russian occupiers participating in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Gerasimov, and commanders of military units.

A video of the beginning of this meeting has been published. In it, dictator Putin is seen wearing a military uniform.

"Putin was presented with a separate report on the Kupyansk and Krasnoarmiysk (Pokrovsk - Ed.) directions. It was reported that up to 5,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel are surrounded in the Kupyansk direction, and 5,500 in the Krasnoarmiisk direction," the spokesperson noted.

The Ukrainian side has not confirmed the information about the encirclement of its troops in these settlements. However, there is already confirmation that Russian forces have entered Kupyansk and Pokrovsk.
