In Odesa, an official of the Peresyp district council was detained for a bribe of 1,500 dollars

In Odesa, an official of the Peresyp district administration, Pavlo Vdovychenko, was detained while receiving a bribe of $1,500 for granting permission to trade on Luzanivka beach.

He demanded money from an entrepreneur, threatening to prohibit her from conducting business. The detention took place in a supermarket parking lot, where he attempted to hide the money in a box with alcohol.

He has been charged under an article on bribery — he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Vdovychenko is the brother of Olena Buinevych, the director of the city’s education department.

The day before, three other officials from Odesa’s housing and communal services were detained for fictitious employment aimed at obtaining exemptions from mobilization.
