Runaway deputy in Novhorod-Siverskyi: drunk official hits policeman while trying to avoid arrest

In Novhorod-Siverskyi, 61-year-old city council deputy Vyacheslav Kaufman attempted to flee from patrol officers after they stopped his car for violating traffic rules.

During the conversation, the police noticed clear signs of alcohol intoxication in the man, but he refused to undergo a test and suddenly pressed the gas pedal. One of the law enforcement officers fell onto the road and sustained injuries of moderate severity.

The offender was detained, and the car was seized. A report was drawn up against him under Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine (driving under the influence), and a criminal case was also opened under Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional infliction of bodily harm to a police officer while performing official duties. Kaufman was placed in a temporary detention facility.

Of course, the police officer is alive, and Kaufman is not Yaroslovsky.
