Macron urged not to be “cowards” regarding the war in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron said there is no need to “be cowards” when it comes to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“We are certainly approaching a moment in our Europe when it is appropriate not to be a coward,” Macron told French expats living in Prague.

According to him, France and the Czech Republic are “well aware that war has returned to our soil (in Europe), that some forces that can no longer be stopped are increasing the threat of attack on us every day, and that we will have to act in accordance with history and the courage it requires."

During his visit to Prague, Macron is expected to discuss support for Czech plans announced last month to send 800,000 ammunition to Ukraine.

He previously suggested that France would contribute to the Czech initiative, without specifying how.
