The invaders attacked the Odesa region with missiles: there is destruction, dead and wounded

By the evening of Friday, May 17, Russian occupation forces shelled Odesa. At least three loud explosions were heard in the city.

As a result of the attack, people were injured and some were killed. This was announced by the mayor of Odesa Hennadiy Trukhanov.

"An explosion is heard in the city! A second explosion! Stay in cover. Another explosion!" – the message says.

Trukhanov clarified that, according to preliminary data, three people were injured as a result of the attack. They were taken to one of the city hospitals and are provided with all the necessary medical care.

Subsequently, the number of wounded increased to eight and information about one death appeared.

The head of the Odesa RMA, Oleh Kiper, noted that in the Odesa region, a strong fire occurred at the site where one of the missiles hit. As a result, civilian infrastructure was damaged.

Later he clarified the information about the victims. According to Oleh Kiper, as a result of today’s Russian attack in the Odesa region, one person died.

“The number of wounded has increased to eight people. Five of them are in a moderate condition in the hospital, others received assistance on the spot,” said the head of the Odesa Police Department.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the warehouses of private food industry enterprises were destroyed.

“The review continues, prosecutors and an investigative team are working at the scene,” the statement said.

Based on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), a pre-trial investigation has been launched by the procedural leadership of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
