Terms of the "UZ-3000" program: Free travel will be available only during periods of low mobility when the train cars are half-empty

Using trains for free under the "UZ-3000" program will not be possible during peak load periods — only at times when the carriages are half full.

This was announced by Serhiy Leshchenko, an advisor to the Head of the President’s Office, who recently took up the position of Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of «Ukrzaliznytsia».

In this way, he responded to criticism of the "UZ-3000" project, under which all citizens of Ukraine were promised free train tickets.

«It is now November, a time of low mobility for Ukrainians. On trains heading to Lviv, Uzhhorod, Odesa, there are hundreds of empty seats today. The trains are practically empty. This resource can be used for the "UZ-3000" program without additional costs for these bonus seats. Of course, during vacations or holidays, demand will be high. But we are not proposing to use these periods. We are talking about times of low mobility», — Leshchenko explains.
