Biden: By supporting Ukraine, we are showing the world our strength

The United States and France support Ukraine in the fight against aggression by the Russian Federation. Thus, these countries demonstrate to the world the strength of allied relations.

This statement was made by US President Joe Biden. He said this on Saturday during a joint speech with French President Emmanuel Macron after French-American talks.

“This week we once again showed the world the power of allies - what we can achieve when we work together. This is what the relationship between France and the United States illustrates. We see this in Ukraine: both our countries stand with the Ukrainian people fighting against Putin’s brutal aggression ", noted the American leader.

Biden recalled that the day before he announced the provision of new security assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $225 million. This is the sixth aid package provided by the United States since the passage of the national security law earlier this year.

“It’s a pity that we couldn’t do this six months earlier, but we achieved this by allocating additional assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $61 billion,” he said.

The US President thanked France and European allies for their leadership in supporting Ukraine, noting that the EU has allocated more than $107 billion since the start of the full-scale war.

"We know what would happen if Putin succeeded in conquering Ukraine. Putin will not stop at Ukraine. This is not just about Ukraine, but about much more than Ukraine. All of Europe is under threat. We will not let this happen. The United States stands next to Ukraine,” he noted.
