Ukraine exchanged 90 Russian prisoners of war for 90 Ukrainian defenders through the UAE

On Tuesday, June 25, Ukraine exchanged prisoners with the aggressor country Russia. It was held in a 90 to 90 format – that’s how many of our defenders were able to be returned from Russian captivity.

Among them are soldiers of the National Guard, Navy, Army, terrorist fighters and border guards.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this.

It also became known that the UAE acted as a mediator during the exchange negotiations.

"Today, another 90 of our people returned home from Russian captivity. Soldiers of the National Guard, Navy, Army, terrorist fighters, border guards. Those who defended Mariupol. Those who defended the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Those who were in the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya and Luhansk directions"
