SAPO demands the confiscation of an apartment belonging to the former deputy head of the Poltava region’s TRC
The High Anti-Corruption Court accepted for substantive consideration the lawsuit by the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office against former deputy head of the Poltava regional recruitment center and social protection Oleksandr Kotyukh and his mother regarding the civil confiscation of an apartment worth 1.92 million UAH.
This decision was made by the HACC on October 8.
According to the court case materials, on August 20, the SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit seeking the recognition of the asset as unjustified and its confiscation from Kotyukh and his mother, specifically an apartment worth 1.92 million UAH. The apartment is registered to Kotyukh’s mother, but the sale contract was signed by the former deputy head of the Poltava regional recruitment center’s wife, Yuliya Kotyukh, on behalf of his mother-in-law.
The Kotyukh family lives in this apartment, not his mother. This is evidenced by their possession of keys to the entrance, payment of utility bills, and payments for the maintenance of the said building. According to SAPO, Kotyukh’s mother and her husband did not have legal income to purchase this apartment, and she purchased it at the behest of her son. Previously, the HACC imposed an arrest on this apartment.
“Conclude the preparatory proceedings and set the case for trial on its merits in an open court session at the premises of the High Anti-Corruption Court on November 21, 2024, at 16:30,” the decision states.
