In Odesa, law enforcement officers staged the murder of businessman Beybutyan, who was ordered by Russian special services
The Security Service and the National Police of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who planned the murder of the head of a community law enforcement formation in Odesa.
This was reported by the SSU.
The murder was ordered by the Russian special service to carry out a "demonstrative" elimination of an activist who openly supported mobilization. Thus, the enemy wanted to sow panic and destabilize the socio-political situation in the region.

It also became known that after the successful murder, the Russian special services planned to order the elimination of other activists with a public pro-Ukrainian position.

Law enforcement officers carried out a complex operation and simulated the murder to find and detain the hidden Russian agent.

It turned out to be a 43-year-old citizen of Ukraine who came to the attention of Russian special services in 2017 while working in the security of one of the Russian oligarchic clans. After the full-scale invasion, contact with him was restored.
The agent’s task was to find a hitman who could carry out a contract murder for $80,000.

To prevent the crime and obtain evidence against the agent, SSU officers introduced him to a potential "executor" of the murder.
The undercover "hitman" acted under the control of law enforcement officers: he acquired a pistol with bullets, "completed" the task, and filmed the "body" of the victim on a phone camera.
After simulating the murder, the "hitman" handed over the confirming photo and video materials from the scene to the client.
Law enforcement officers detained the Russian agent when he was about to hand over the "evidence" of the contract murder to the curator from the Russian Federation.
At the time of arrest in a public place, the criminal had a live grenade F-1 with him, whose use could have led to human casualties, and a mobile phone with evidence of communication with the Russian curator.
Law enforcement informed him of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 15, Paragraphs 6, 11 of Part 2 of Article 115 (completed attempt on intentional murder, committed on order) and Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosive substances) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of additional qualification of the criminal actions of the detainee under Part 2 of Article 111 (state treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being decided.
The criminal is in custody, and he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
