Bank "Hlobus" was involved in a corruption scandal: accused of embezzling depositors’ funds

The bank "Hlobus", which was associated with the entourage of former President Viktor Yanukovych, has now become involved in a corruption scandal.

Journalists have discovered that NABU and SAPO have been investigating a case of embezzlement of billions of hryvnias for several years, involving banker Denys Maltsev, whose property in Ukraine has been arrested for many years. Few people know that Denys Maltsev is the owner of one of the largest shares of the bank "Hlobus", which is currently under arrest.

According to the "Svobodny" channel, in Austria, a forensic expert determined that Maltsev was removed from the founders of the bank "Hlobus" based on forged documents prepared by him. The documents were faked by a group of individuals led by Serhiy Mamedov, the current major shareholder of the bank.

Mamedov

This was a banal raid and theft following the start of the prosecution of Maltsev in Ukraine. Serhiy Mamedov is a personal manager (assistant) of Russian residents Yuriy Kolobov and Serhiy Arbuzov, former finance minister and governor of the NBU, respectively. They fled together with former President Viktor Yanukovych.

Serhiy Mamedov continues to work actively with Moscow residents, and the bank "Hlobus", with dubious finances, is suspected of financing terrorism, war, and the FSB.

Who is Serhiy Mamedov? A classmate of Denys Maltsev. Maltsev christened Mamedov’s son. During Yanukovych’s presidency, Serhiy Mamedov was a personal manager of the "family", working under Yuriy Kolobov, Oleksandr Klymenko, and Serhiy Arbuzov. At that time, Serhiy Mamedov held the position of chairman of the board at "Ukrgasbank". That is why, after seizing "Hlobus" from Maltsev, Mamedov continued to strengthen the bank, including with the help of Moscow residents and members of Yanukovych’s family, until today.

Currently, a case is being considered in the courts regarding the theft of $850,000 by Serhiy Mamedov from a private deposit account in 2017. Having earned well, Mamedov decided to invest in a campaign against Andriy Pyshnyi and take his position as head of the NBU.

The bank "Hlobus" was registered in 2007. According to the NBU, as of April 11, 2023, the bank’s shareholders were Olena Sylnyahina (100%), Dmytro Polkivskyi (16.198866%), Yevhen Varyahin (9.899307%), Serhiy Mamedov (9.899307%), Andriy Pinchuk (9.899307%), and Taras Lisovyi (3.599748%), who own the authorized capital indirectly.

By the way, on January 19, 2017, the State Financial Monitoring Service recorded that officials of the All-Ukrainian Development Bank, owned by Oleksandr Yanukovych, transferred 100.64 million UAH to the "Hlobus" bank. After that, there was an attempt to withdraw these funds from the accounts at "Hlobus", however, the bank itself denies this transaction.

Currently, Serhiy Mamedov is officially the chairman of the board of the "Hlobus" bank, unofficially – its master, together with Valeriy Prokhorenko, former deputy chairman of the NBU and Arbuzov’s right-hand man. The bank’s structure lists two beneficiaries: Olena Sylnyahina (through the companies "Ketlen" and "Ukrainian Media Technologies") and Mamedov’s godfather Dmytro Polkivskyi (through "Terman International"). Sylnyahina is known as the founder of the national bank’s channel BTB (from Arbuzov), and Polkivskyi is a figure in a criminal case concerning extortion and illegal appropriation from former MP Vasyl Horbal of the "UkrKart" company.
