On the night of Wednesday, October 30, Russian occupiers launched an attack on Kyiv and the region with "drones." Air defence forces engaged enemy UAVs, explosions were heard in the capital, injuring nine people.

Fires broke out in the Solomyanskyi district due to falling drone debris. This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko.

"An explosion in the Solomianskyi district of the capital. All services are heading to the scene. In the same area, a fire occurred due to falling drone debris," he wrote.

Later it became known that non-residential premises in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv were on fire. A fire also broke out at another address in the same area in one of the apartments in a residential building. Medical assistance was provided on-site to one victim.

Soon, the number of injured increased to nine people, including an 11-year-old girl.

The Kyiv City State Administration noted that a fire broke out in apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a multi-apartment building.

At 05:26, the capital’s military administration reported that the fire over an area of 40 sq.m in the high-rise was extinguished. In total, 18 people were evacuated from the building. Among the nine injured, an 11-year-old child experienced an acute stress reaction.

Also, the Kyiv City State Administration reported that at another address in the Solomyanskyi district, a fire was recorded in a multi-story administrative building due to the UAV attack.

The head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Serhiy Popko, mentioned that this nighttime attack was already the 19th on Kyiv in October.

"The air alert in Kyiv lasted over two hours. Russian drones did not change their usual tactics - they approached the capital from different directions at various altitudes. The enemy drones were detected and neutralized in a timely manner by air defense forces and means. Preliminary reports indicate that due to the attack by the Russian Federation’s strike drones, debris fell in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv," he noted.

He also mentioned that nine people were injured in the damaged high-rise building, including a child. And in the administrative building where the fire occurred, a "depressurization of the RGP" subsequently occurred, which was resolved by 05:40. The fire in the building was also extinguished without casualties.

The air defence forces also engaged enemy kamikaze drones in the Kyiv region, reported the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
