Ivan Bakanov hid his son in the SSU at the beginning of the invasion, - investigation
Former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) Ivan Bakanov immediately after the Russian invasion arranged a job in the Service for his son Artur.
Thanks to this, the 27-year-old young man is protected from mobilization and enjoys the privileges of an operative employee, such as special license plates on his car.
In the SSU, the then 25-year-old under his mother’s surname Lazarenko received the rank of lieutenant, like his father. He works in the sixth department of the counterintelligence department. His wartime role involves managing the work of military factories and defense industry enterprises.
Journalists tracked the actions of the young man and found out that he spends most of his working time in public catering establishments and the gym. On the day of observation, he spent a total of about two hours in the special service office.
He himself refused to comment, stating that this is his "personal life" and he does not wish to communicate with the press.
Former MP Ihor Mosiychuk, commenting on the investigation, stated that "hundreds of children of former and possibly current officials, including representatives of the SSU leadership, work or serve in the SSU now".
He wondered why journalists paid attention only to Bakanov’s son.
