On November 11, Russian units attempted to assault in the direction of Huliaipole, and a spokesperson for the southern command of the Defence Forces reported the possibility of a new Russian offensive on Zaporizhzhya. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not comment on reports of increased Russian activity in the south.

Near Zaporizhzhya, Russian forces redeployed assault units and nearly doubled the strikes with guided aerial bombs. The enemy conducted reconnaissance and is ready to advance in the coming days. Details of the new Russian offensive were reported by Reuters.

Journalists quoted southern Defence Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn, who spoke about the new Russian units deployed near Zaporizhzhya and expectations of a new Russian offensive. According to him, "prepared assault groups" are already present in the Zaporizhzhya direction and are ready to advance. Ukrainian command is currently unclear whether there will be one large offensive in a specific direction or several smaller assaults are planned. The estimated time for the Russian offensive to begin is a few days, not even weeks.

"[Assaults] may begin soon, we are not even talking about weeks, we expect it to happen any day," journalists quoted Voloshyn.

The possible Russian plan involves attacking with armored vehicles, light equipment (buggies, motorcycles), and drones, explained the southern command spokesperson. The preparation for the offensive on Zaporizhzhya is evidenced by an increase in airstrikes — they have grown by 30-40% in recent weeks, he stated. Russian forces have conducted reconnaissance and are fully prepared, concluded the Ukrainian military in comments to Western journalists.

Russian Offensive on Zaporizhzhya — General Staff Information

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not mention a Russian offensive on Zaporizhzhya in their report published on Facebook at 4:00 PM on November 11. The report stated that "the enemy did not conduct active operations in the Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi directions." A single enemy attack was recorded under Orikhiv in the past day, the command reported. Previous General Staff reports mentioned isolated enemy attacks, but on November 8, they noted increased launches of guided aerial bombs.

Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration Head Ivan Fedorov has not yet commented on the potential Russian offensive on Zaporizhzhya. On the online military map DeepState, one can see the front line near Zaporizhzhya and past attack directions of Russian forces near Orikhiv.

Meanwhile, in the Telegram channel of Aidar unit volunteer Stanislav Bunyatov, there is a message about a Russian attack near the city of Huliaipole. According to him, the enemy conducted a mechanized assault involving five armored vehicles and one motorcycle. One infantry fighting vehicle was drowned; the military did not disclose further details of the battle.

Meanwhile, Russian media published a statement from Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the occupying power in the Zaporizhzhya region. Rogov claimed he expects a "provocation": supposedly, there could be an explosion of a dam near the town of Vasylivka, located east of Enerhodar and the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.
