President Zelenskyy will soon meet with the leaders of the European Union

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Brussels (Belgium) on December 18 for talks with leaders from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, NATO, and the EU. The main topic will be supporting Ukraine in the war with Russia.

This was reported by Reuters. The agency notes: the meeting takes place at a time when Europe is facing a potential change in the United States’ approach to supporting Kyiv.

Zelenskyy and some of his allies have proposed the deployment of European troops on Ukrainian territory after a ceasefire, to prevent further military aggression from Russia.

"This will be a meeting where no specific decisions will be made, but rather a political discussion to plan for the coming weeks and months," a source familiar with the details of the event explained.

The meeting, organized by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, will be held on the same day as the EU-Western Balkans summit in Brussels. It will include joint consultations and several bilateral meetings between Zelenskyy and individual politicians.
