The NBU responded whether Ukrainians’ cards would be blocked for frequent cash withdrawals

Ukrainians will not have their bank accounts blocked for frequent (more than three times a month) cash withdrawals.

This was stated by the National Bank, refuting the information disseminated the day before by some media and Telegram channels.

"The media refer to the ’recommendations of the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the strengthening of financial monitoring in Ukraine,’ without specifying any particular documents. However, there are no requirements in any recommendations, letters, regulations, or other official documents of the NBU regarding the blocking of accounts for conducting such operations," the National Bank noted.

The regulator added that banks, payment, and financial institutions check their clients solely within the framework of financial monitoring legislation, applying a risk-oriented approach.
