Russian occupation forces continue to attack the positions of Ukrainian military in the area of Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region. There, the enemy is attempting to disrupt the logistics routes of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

The situation in the vicinity of the settlement remains consistently difficult. This was reported on air by "Suspilne. Studio" by the head of the communications department of the 48th separate artillery brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bohdan Petrenko.

"The enemy does not cease attempts to attack, conducting assault actions to expand their control, carrying out attacks aimed at controlling logistics routes that are within our area of responsibility. These attempts have been ongoing for more than a week and not the first month, which indicates the high effectiveness of the resistance posed by the Defence Forces against significant enemy forces," he noted.

Earlier, this direction was called Vremivsky by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but in recent reports, another name appears – Novopavlivskyi.

According to Petrenko, the main efforts of the Russians to advance are taking place to the northwest and south of Velyka Novosilka – where logistic routes are located today. From time to time, the enemy conducts mechanized assaults, but mostly Russian troops operate in small tactical groups.

"Equipment is used exclusively for transportation to certain areas. There it ’dismounts,’ trying to enter the gray zone to approach our strongholds. But at all these stages, fire control is exercised by the Defense Forces to prevent the enemy from approaching our strongholds," said the military official.

He added that the Russians do not spare their infantry and advance, even over corpses.

"The situation quite commonly appears where one assault group advances through the vegetation, and to move forward, they have to step over the bodies of their predecessors, only then to become predecessors for those who will follow them," noted the representative of the 48th Artillery Brigade.
