Cancellation of military aid by Trump pushes Ukraine towards "capitulation," - Merezhko

The Member of Parliament from the "Servant of the People" faction, Oleksandr Merezhko, stated that canceling military assistance to Ukraine from the United States may be perceived as an attempt to push Ukraine toward "surrender."

In his opinion, such a move aids Putin and negatively impacts the country’s morale.

"Stopping assistance now means helping Putin. At first glance, it looks very bad. It appears as if Trump is pushing us toward surrender, toward accepting Russia’s demands. Most importantly, this is a psychological and political blow to Ukraine; it does not help our spirit," Merezhko noted in a comment to Reuters.
