MP Dunda declared millions in cash and luxurious assets on a modest salary
People’s Deputy from "Servant of the People" Oleh Dunda is one of those who are supposed to represent the interests of Ukrainians in the Verkhovna Rada. However, his declaration for 2023 raises more questions than answers. Apartments in Kyiv, an apartment in occupied Alushta, a collection of luxury watches, and cash amounting to tens of millions of hryvnias—all this on a modest parliamentary salary of 658 thousand hryvnias per year.
Media outlets learned about this from his latest declaration.
Oleh Dunda is a deputy from "Servant of the People," elected in 2019. He is registered in Dnipro but lives in Kyiv with his partner Olena Krol and daughter Sofia. In the Verkhovna Rada, he earned 658 thousand UAH for 2023 - this is the only declared income.
An apartment in Dnipro (67.8 sq.m) belongs to the deputy’s mother, Mariya Vasylivna, and was purchased back in 1999. Dunda has the right to use it. He also owns, together with Krol, an apartment (191.6 sq.m) and a parking space (17.4 sq.m) in occupied Alushta, valued at over 350 thousand dollars.
Dunda and his daughter also have the right to use Krol’s apartment (195.9 sq.m) in Kyiv, acquired in 2012. In the city center, such housing costs 8-10 million UAH today. Olena Krol seems to be a "storage" for the deputy’s wealth. Everything expensive is registered to her, but Dunda freely uses it. Is she a front person?
The woman also owns a Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 (2019), purchased in 2019 for 2.41 million UAH, and a Mercedes-Benz ML 350 (2013), purchased in 2013, with the price not specified.
GLE 450 in 2019 was a top model, costing even now 60-70 thousand dollars. The deputy’s salary for the year is 658 thousand UAH, for 4 years - a maximum of 2.5-3 million UAH. Where did an additional 1.75 million UAH for the car come from? And why is everything in Krol’s name?
Dunda and Krol are luxury aficionados. The man has Rolex, Breitling, Zenith, Longines, Milleret, Arnold & Son, Ulysse Nardin, Breguet + Baraka bracelet. He declared his partner’s ownership of two women’s Rolex, Franck Muller, Chopard + a gold set from Damiani.
These are brands where a single model can cost from 5 thousand to 50 thousand dollars. The declaration lacks prices, as the property was "acquired before the first declaration." But even at minimal estimates, the collection is worth millions.
Dunda has 195 thousand UAH and 125 thousand dollars in cash, while Krol has 615 thousand UAH, 775 thousand dollars, and 35 thousand euros in cash.
Official income for the year is 658 thousand UAH, for 4 years - 2.5-3 million UAH. Where did an additional 34 million UAH come from? This is a glaring gap between income and wealth.
Olena Krol owns 50% in LLC "Ukrainika-Oil," acquired in 2006 for 20 thousand UAH. This is the only business asset in the declaration. But the company is inactive, does not file reports, and no significant profits are visible. If this is not a "gold mine," then where did Krol get an apartment worth 1.75 million UAH in 2008 and 775 thousand dollars in cash? Is this not a fictitious "shell" for legalizing other income?
Dunda declared a painting "Night Istanbul" (late 19th century, author Cassesi), and Krol declared 10 "non-attributed" paintings from the 18th-20th centuries.
Prices are not indicated because it was "before the first declaration." But paintings of this age can cost from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. "Non-attributed" is a convenient excuse to avoid assessment. Were these paintings "fabricated" to justify the cash?
