New photos of the central stadium "Shakhtar" in occupied Donetsk have appeared.

The famous stadium looks completely destroyed. The stands have faded, and the football field has turned into debris and piles of earth and coal.

It can also be seen that trees have grown in the stadium. The photos were published on local Telegram channels.

CS "Shakhtar" was opened in 1936 and became the first home arena for the "miners". At the stadium located in Shcherbakov Park, "Shakhtar" played in the group stage of the Champions League for the first time and won its first Ukrainian championship.

The Ukraine national team also played two matches at this stadium.

Later, the people of Donetsk moved to the "Olympiyskyi" sports complex, and in 2009, "Donbas Arena" was built in Donetsk.

Since the spring of 2014, due to hostilities, "Shakhtar" was forced to leave Donetsk, relocate to Kyiv, and play matches in various cities across Ukraine.
