IAEA recorded the flight of eight drones at a distance of four kilometers from the South Ukraine NPP
On the night of April 9, the flight of eight drones was recorded just four kilometers from the South Ukraine NPP.
This was reported on the IAEA website.
"At Ukrainian nuclear facilities, air raid alarms and the sounds of distant explosions are constantly heard, indicating ongoing threats to nuclear safety. Thus, on the night of April 9, according to information from the site, the flight of eight drones was recorded within 4 km of the South Ukraine NPP," the statement reads.
It is noted that at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the IAEA team continues to conduct regular rounds to monitor and assess the state of nuclear safety and protection, including the storage of dry spent nuclear fuel. Agency representatives discussed with the Russian occupying administration of the station the planned electrical maintenance work, the situation with personnel, and the training and qualification of workers at the ZNPP.
"At the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne NPPs, one power unit at each facility is currently shut down for scheduled nuclear fuel reloading. On April 5, two power units of the Rivne NPP were forced to temporarily reduce power due to restrictions in the power grid, which again underscores the difficulties caused by the vulnerability of the energy infrastructure," the statement noted.
