In Spain, due to a large-scale blackout, all nuclear power plants were left without external power supply

Today, all nuclear power plants in Spain have lost external power supply due to a global blackout that has covered the Iberian Peninsula.

According to the company, all seven Spanish NPPs experienced a power loss. All power units shut down in normal mode, and diesel generators reliably ensure the operation of critical safety systems. Reactor cooling continues stably, and nuclear safety requirements are fully met.

Spain’s national regulator (CSN) promptly activated crisis protocols to ensure the stable operation of nuclear facilities.
