In Rivne, a dead baby was discovered near garbage bins in the middle of the night

On the night of April 29 in Rivne, a dead infant was found near garbage bins. Law enforcement officers located the woman who gave birth and abandoned the baby girl and are conducting a pre-trial investigation.

This was reported by the police of the Rivne region.

Around two in the morning, a 62-year-old local resident contacted the police. She reported finding a newborn baby wrapped in a blanket in a ravine near the garbage bins on Kulyk and Hudachek street. The infant showed no signs of life.

Detectives quickly located the woman who gave birth to the baby girl. Law enforcement officers are interviewing her.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under the preliminary legal qualification of item 2, part 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — premeditated murder of a minor child.

The body of the infant was sent to the morgue for a forensic examination to determine the exact time of death. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances.
