In the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a warning was issued about the danger of a Russian offensive in the Sumy region

In the Sumy direction, on the territory of the Kursk region, the Russian occupational army has accumulated enough forces for an attempt to attack Ukraine.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU), Andriy Demchenko, during a television marathon. "The enemy indeed has a fairly large number of forces and means, both personnel and equipment, within the Kursk region," said Demchenko.

According to him, the accumulation of enemy forces began when they were preparing to push back the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the territory of the Kursk region. Occasionally, a change in the number of Russian troops in terms of manpower and armaments is observed.

"The enemy has enough forces there to carry out actions regarding our border and attempt to attack Ukrainian territory," noted Demchenko.

He also added that the activity of enemy sabotage groups is not decreasing. The most noticeable activity is within the Sumy region, and there have been attempts to expose Russian saboteurs in the Kharkiv region as well.

Regarding the border with Belarus, according to Demchenko, as of the morning of May 29, there are no events affecting Ukraine’s security. However, he believes that tensions will significantly increase in the fall when the "West-2025" exercises begin on the territory of Belarus.

This direction remains threatening... The threat will start to grow especially when the active phase of the joint exercises, announced by Belarus and Russia, begins. This active phase falls in September. We must be ready for the development of any situations."
