Massive attack on Ternopil region: hits on infrastructure, fires, and power outages
A powerful explosion was heard in Ternopil around 5:00 a.m.
As a result of a massive air attack by Russian forces, strikes were recorded on industrial facilities and the critical infrastructure of the city.
According to Mayor Serhiy Nadal, the city was hit, specifically affecting the "VATRA" enterprise, which is engaged in the production of lighting equipment, as well as a gas station. Part of Ternopil was left without electricity. Due to disruptions in power supply, water pressure has been reduced, which may cause a lack of flow on the upper floors of buildings. Restoration work is ongoing.
The head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Nehoda, reported that this attack was the most massive on Ternopil region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Numerous hits were recorded, and fire-rescue services are working on-site. The assessment of the scale of the destruction and the elimination of consequences are ongoing.
Residents are urged not to approach the impact sites, to stay in shelters during air raids, and to tightly close windows due to possible smoke.
