A Ukrainian soldier is having the inscription "glory to Russia" removed, which was burned into him while in captivity
The Ukrainian serviceman, who had the inscription "glory to Russia" burned onto his body by the Russian occupiers while in captivity, has begun the procedure for its removal. Doctors have already completed the first stage of treatment, preparing the scar for further intervention.
According to dermatologist Oleksandr Turkevych, the soldier was captured over 15 months ago after being wounded. When he regained consciousness post-surgery, he discovered the mocking inscription on his body, which he says was left by a surgeon.
The first stage of the procedure involved the introduction of polynucleotide. This substance is used to stimulate the regeneration of cells and tissues, which is meant to prepare the skin for the subsequent, more "aggressive" stages of scar removal.
Doctors plan to continue working on the complete removal of the inscription to help the serviceman get rid of the horrific reminder of what he endured in captivity.
