Power supply to the Zaporizhzhya NPP has been restored after an emergency shutdown — IAEA

The external power supply to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was restored after an emergency blackout that lasted about three and a half hours.

This was reported by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

Earlier, the restoration of power supply was also reported by the Russian-appointed "management" of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Grossi emphasized that the complete loss of external power at a nuclear plant poses a serious threat to nuclear safety, even if it lasts for a relatively short time. He also called for enhanced protection of the facility and guarantees of stable power supply.
